State
The players in ARS Regendi play the role of a Regent.
These states can either be classic, or world states.
Classic States
Edit
The direct advantage of such states is that they can not be attacked. On the other hand, trade agreements are not possible, nor it is possible to invade other states. When you create a classic state, you are able to choose freely from any of the eight state templates.
World States
Edit
World states have the advantage that they may sign trade agreements which other states, and can invade and conquer other states, which the regent will then be able to rule as own. The disadvantage is that there is no way to prevent an invasion should it happen, and the only way to resist conquest is by having an army more powerful than that of the attacker's. Additionally, attacks can happen in the form of atomic attacks, which can have a devastating effect on the target state. There is no way to resist such attack; however, the attacker state suffers a serious penalty in international reputation. When you create a new world state, you will be assigned one of the eight state templates based on your level of experience in the game.
